Nutrition

Here at Peter's Patch, we believe that good nutrition is a fundamental part of every child's development. We ensure your children have healthy, nutritious, yummy meals and snacks each day. Take a sneak peek at some of our meal plans.

Forest School

Children enjoy a snack in the forest along with a cool drink of water and some fresh fruit to keep them going through their busy morning!  As you can see each day is a little different and we are able to cater for any dietary needs your child might have!

Day Care

Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 9.15am and includes a selection of cereals and a fruit platter.  This is served with the child’s choice of milk or water.

Lunch is served between 11.45am and 12.00pm  and is rotated on a four weekly basis to ensure the children are offered a wide variety of healthy, nutritious and delicious food.  Some of our favourites might appear on there more than once!

Afternoon Snack is served at 2.30pm and is just enough to keep the children going until dinner time.  Usually some fresh fruit and a drink of milk or water.

We understand life can be busy and so, for our children aged P1 and under, dinner is served at 4.45pm with the aim of sending your child home with a full belly! Don’t be surprised if they still want to sit at the table and have a chat though! Nothing beats telling your family all about your day over a snack!  Again, this is served with a choice of milk or water.

After School receive a snack around 3.00pm when everyone is back from school and homework’s are done!  These snacks vary depending on what the children choose to have that day.  Each day they choose from the weekly options of:

Toast and Spaghetti Hoops

Waffles and Spaghetti Hoops

Wraps with Chicken and/or Cheese

Crackers, Cheese and Yoghurts

Brioche

Pizza

Bagels

During the school holidays they can join us for breakfast and fruit from 7.30 - 9.15.  The children have access to fruit and fresh water throughout the day, just encase they get peckish!  Lunch is prepared in the Carnreagh Kitchen and transported to The Bungalow.  We follow the same menu as Day Care.  Afternoon snack will be served as normal.

Dietary Requirements

If your child suffers from a food allergy or intolerance, please let us know and we can arrange for them to eat something safe for them at each mealtime. We aim to keep this dish as similar to what is on the menu in the hope that we can still provide a variety of tasty dishes for everyone.

Food Hygiene & Safety

Our nursey has achieved the highest possible standard for food safety management, awarded with a 5 star rating by the Environmental Health Officers. Inspections take place between every 6 months to 2 years.
